Rev. Mitcz click for contact details »
Role : Host, Executive Producer, Lead Writer, Webmaster
Bio :
This is probably the most familiar face to you. Other than the fact that his face is emblazoned on damn-near everything that says "Aural Salvation" (including the header at the top of this page), he is also the show's Host, Executive Producer, Lead Writer, and the man responsible for putting this website together. He admits to running a pretty tight ship, and is at times "a tyrannical asshole" (his words, not ours), he's only serious about 1.3% of the time his lips are moving. That's just one of those things you've gotta get used to.
Rev. Mitcz is a self-proclaimed "media whore and lunatic extraordinaire". His mother was a middle school drama teacher and his father a travelling salesman and financial analyst. Spending time with Mitcz, you're likely to see both of those in him, at the same time.
Rev. Mitcz grew up and attended high school in Phoenix, AZ, before moving to California mostly out of boredom. A self-taught Graphic/Web Design master, Mitcz landed a job with the #1 selling adult firm, Vivid Entertainment, in 2003 and moved to Hollywood to be closer to the job. Outside of his work, that he calls "kinda boring, but secure", Mitcz is a stand-up comedian, actor, model, video editor, amateur anthropologist and sometimes musician.
He was discovered while performing comedy at an exclusive underground fetish club in Southern California, telling off-color and niche-oriented humor for a group of people who more interested in beating each other with whips than watching a comedy show. A former M+TV VJ saw his unique act and invited him onto his show "Metal Mayhem", as a regular doing slanted music news commentary. His peculiar antics and (as he calls it) "radiating sinister energy" later garnered him his own hour-long M+TV show, Aural Salvation.
The Reverend has eclectic musical tastes, and is always on the lookout for new and exciting musical acts. Some of his all-time faves include Faith No More and most other Mike Patton projects, Tom Waits, Skinny Puppy, Tiamat, Johnny Cash, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, KMFDM, The Doors, Pixies, The Clash, The Ramones, The Cure, Depeche Mode and a host of others.
Dan "Nad" Yaussy click for contact details »
Role : Co-Producer, Co-writer, Talent Recruiter
Bio :
Dan, or "Nad" as we call him, is Rev. Mitcz's best friend of some 14+ years and his roommate. Beyond just feeling obligated to keep him around, Rev. Mitcz says "Nad is one of the few people in the world I fully trust in, and the only person I'm comfortable writing and creating a show with". Nad has helped draft numerous scripts, skits, and general show segments which are in the process of being worked into the show and will continue to be worked in as time goes along. Nad also helps act as a liaison between Rev. Mitcz and the guests, and is very hospitable and goofy, making them feel comfortable during their time at the studio.
Nad is an avid video-gamer, but generally uses it as a way to relax while he dreams up new projects. Don't be fooled - this guy's a creative workhorse. He's created more storyboards, scripts, self-molded clay concept figurines and concept art than you've likely ever seen in one place. When he's not working on Aural Salvation with Mitcz, he'll be found dreaming up new ideas for his own pursuits, and modeling with clay pieces that one day he might consider producing and selling for public consumption.
His musical tastes are eclectic, like most of the AS crew, and include (amongst others) : Clutch, Nirvana, (pre-Youthanasia) Megadeth, (pre-Black album) Metallica, Pantera, Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss, In Flames, Fantomas, Faith No More, Primus, Johnny Cash, and Ministry.
